Professional Development
Training
We offer unique guided tours, talks by specialists, ‘on demand’ training and other opportunities to do with museums and museum practice.
Our program is for museum professionals, volunteers and others with an interest in museums.
Contact Lyndel Wischer about training.

Choose from a range of topics:
- business planning
- care of photographs and negatives
- caring for textiles
- caring for your collections
- cataloguing
- conservation planning
- disaster planning
- exhibition design – art
- exhibition design – social history exhibitions
- exhibitions: from concept development to delivery
- grant writing
- marketing
- significance assessment
- storage, handling and movement of objects
- writing labels
‘On demand’ training is available to members (at discounted rates) and non-members. This service can be provided in Victoria’s regional centres and metropolitan Melbourne.
Contact Lyndel Wischer to discuss your museum or network’s training needs.

Exhibition Services (previously known as RETI)

Exhibition Services provides workshops and seminars on exhibition preparation and display, and touring.
These are free for Exhibition Services (and 2009 RETI) Grant Recipients and open to others.
Museums Australia (Victoria) manages Exhibition Services with funds received from the Community Support Fund through Arts Victoria.
